Week 42 - Futures F1 (10k) - Islamabad, Pakistan

Fitzy is here, as he suggested he would be earlier this year, and as 1st Alt on the last IF update has probably scraped into the main draw. smile He is joined by Feaver, who is likely to be seeded, and Maniel Bains.

Hard according to ATP, clay according to ITF. It probably depends on how hard the sun has been beating down on the dung. wink

Indeed i am here and the referee being Sultan, english ref that does london british futures, he told me i would get into main draw.

The first two weeks are here and on 'crushed brick'. Closest example i can use it mud, with bricks and stones thrown into a mixer and a sort of powder comes out.

apparently they have orderd plastic lines this year, to be put in tonight. We shall see, that will be instead of the paint on lines there using at the moment.

I would like to deffinatly think im a much better player than last year, though i havent taken all my chances and pushed on.

Lets hope for a good draw and see how it goes.
Still looking for a doubles partner, anyone fancy flying out here to the safest place on the earth right now to play with me??;)

p.s 4 bombs gone off since i have been here, thats 4 in 5 days.... nice

Hey Fitzy I see one of the 'Official' hotels for this week is called the 'Dreamland Motel'....I presume you would prefer the other one called "Pak Palace hotel"...smile.gif

Perhaps less vermin !!!

I'd fly out but I'm so rubbish that you might be better off asking Adam Lownsborough to come out of retirement first ... wink

Good to see that you've found a practice partner though - who needs a coach when you've got a rat in your room to keep you on your toes? evileye

Do you know what's up with your fellow African Futures player from last year, Edward, btw? He retired in R1 of a Belgian Future in late August and hasn't been seen since, I guess the injury was quite serious - very bad luck for him if it was.

Anyway, I hope neither the rat nor any exploding things get you and that you get the odd ranking point to make it all seem just about worth it!

Thanks Fitzy for that interesting insight into the 'glamorous' life on the tennis circuit.

Playing on mud - living with c0ckroches -chasing rats - avoiding bombs - it's a good job you didn't take the economy option! Just watch what you eat and drink.

Hope you get some points and win some $'s so that you can afford to fly home - You deserve it.

I think it's fair to say they could all hardly have asked for better draws smile.gif
