L32: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 1243 v (Q) David Goffin (BEL) WR 1042
Fitzy has drawn a qualifier, but Goffin is now ranked higher than him, having reached the semi-finals of a clay court Future in Belgium a couple of weeks ago, the points for that not having gone on the rankings until after the entry cut-off. He will be in the top 1000 on Monday because he reached the QFs last week too.
In fact, this is only the 17-year-old's sixth senior tournament - he started out getting double bagelled by Simon Stadler in Mons Challenger qualifying two years ago when he was 15 and didn't play another senior event until last month! In the meantime though he has made it into the top 10 in juniors.
Hence, nowhere near as good a draw for Fitzy as it looks, but at least he avoided a seed!
P.S. Goffin is another Belgian 'dwarf' in the Rochus mould (1.62 m - though maybe that's not been updated for a couple of years and is no longer accurate), so I can see a few lobs coming in handy!

LOL the guy im playing is small, but he strikes a good ball, currently rain delayed, i know shock horror, like the first rain they have had here in like 2 months. Supposed to clear up, im on 1pm local time which is 11am british time. On a court lightening fast, which is bad given i have only been able to practise on the other 3 that are slower. Should be intresting. Hope to play well and make use of this trip, given the cost.
Will try to keep you all updated, lack on internet here somtimes.
