yeah the hundred metres is a race i always want to see. isnt it a shame that our best brits run 10.09. they shouldnt even go to the olmpics wen the top 3/4 run 9.70/s average.
To break the world record without actually running the whole 100m is very impressive, and I think Bolt can do a sub 9.50 time if he actually runs the whole race for once.
The 200m world record won't survive for too much longer, as amazingly that is his best event!
It's always run on the middle Saturday of the Olymoics, with the first two rounds the day before, on the first day of the athletics - I think the idea is to have the biggest individual event at the start with (and to get people really enthusiastic about the athletics) then the relays to finish everything off.
Also, with lots of people running the 100m, the 200m and the 4x100 relay, they have to space them out somehow, and if they put the realys on first and the 100m last, lots of the sprinters would opt out of the relays to save themselves for the individual events.
