100 Metre Men's

I know this is off topic, but thought share with everyone, who saw that 100m men's race?

Oh my god what a race. That is a case of pure genius in act. He killed the field and jogged the last bit. What a race

Before I opened this thread, I thought it would be a joke about a fictional race held between all the British players. rofl.gif

I didn't see the Olympics race (if that's what you mean).

yeah the hundred metres is a race i always want to see. isnt it a shame that our best brits run 10.09. they shouldnt even go to the olmpics wen the top 3/4 run 9.70/s average.

To break the world record without actually running the whole 100m is very impressive, and I think Bolt can do a sub 9.50 time if he actually runs the whole race for once.

The 200m world record won't survive for too much longer, as amazingly that is his best event!

anyone else find it a bit odd that the 100m was run in the middle of the event?
for me the 100m is meant to be the pinnacle of the olyimpics.

It's always run on the middle Saturday of the Olymoics, with the first two rounds the day before, on the first day of the athletics - I think the idea is to have the biggest individual event at the start with (and to get people really enthusiastic about the athletics) then the relays to finish everything off.

Also, with lots of people running the 100m, the 200m and the 4x100 relay, they have to space them out somehow, and if they put the realys on first and the 100m last, lots of the sprinters would opt out of the relays to save themselves for the individual events.

And Bolt goes and breaks the WR in the 200m as well, running 19.30, and winning by more than half a second!

Impressive winning margins. Hope they're legal.
