So the calendar has been updated till the end of the year. as suspected the only remaining brit challnger is in jersey and clashes with the super ukraine indoor ch. the week after (17th nov) there is a large indoor ch in helskini, could be a great place for boggo to pick up points depending on how much he has left in the tank.
there is also a new indoor ch in canada the week of St.P, Basel, lyon -although its quite far to travel, but could maybe be linked up with somew on the NA challengers that time of year.
the thing that jumped out is that from about 2 weeks ago there is a futrures event everyweek in brazil till the start of next year!! thats about 23 straight futures!! the majority are 10k's but there are a few 15k and 15k+h in there. thats a hell of a lot of points on offer.

Remind me to check on the change in the number of Brazilians in each hundred of the rankings between the end of July and the end of December, it could be an interesting stat in the debate over whether holding more home Futures is a good or bad thing.

From the 29 Sep '08 to 4 Jan '09 there are 14 tournaments in a row all held in Sao Paulo.
i had assumed the riminouski was new as its in bold in the list. maybe someting changed about it.
Oh, sorry. Yes, bold means that it was added later on/changed for some reason.
I thought that by "new", you meant that it was a totally new tourney. That is, held for the first time ever - a la Jersey Challenger.
I personally love the fact that there's a Challenger in Jersey. The added travel costs mean that qualies should be weaker than a Challenger held in Britain, which gives our players more of an opportunity.
It's a strategy, I tell you! Spain hosts two Challengers in the Canary Islands and a few Futures in Africa. We need an indoor Challenger in Shetland...

So there isn't any need to travel either!
will we have any onsite reporters?
@ Arka
will be interesting to see the strength of of Jersey, from my perspective hopefully alex will be there and do well. with the big one on in ukraine would hopefully keep all the big guns away too.
i am trying to work out how many indoor events alex can realisticaly play, am thinking maybe 10. depends if he can play one in france after the USO but b4 DC and the one staright after the DC too. hopefully.

yes thats the most obvious week for doing atpq. i guess it depends on how he plans his scehdule. he will almost certinaly need to fit in 1 or 2 week breaks so as to not overdo it, esp if he can regaurly manage to go deep. the fact that he took the binghamptom week of is a +ive sign in this respect, even tho it kinda back fired with the injury. Maybe he will learn to better manage his schdule to get the most out of his performances.

Hopefully he'll do all the European IH Challengers till Mons, followed by a week off. Then he should do Kolding, followed by St. Petersburg (or week off if he goes far in Kolding), Aachen, Bratislava, Dnepropetrovsk and Helsinki.
He'll get some time off in the DC and St. Petersburg weeks. Plus if he does the bigger Challengers, he's unlikely to do extremely well in them, so he'll get some time off there, too. And he can always withdraw from the next week's event if he wins a big Challenger.
In my opinion, Marray, Josh, Eaton and Rich should do all the IH Challengers and one week of Tour qualies.
Jamie should go to North America after DC and stay there till the year end. Slabba and Wardy should play one or two European IH Challengers, followed by St. Petersburg and Challengers in Asia. They seem most comfortable on outdoor hard, so the Challengers in Asia are a perfect opportunity.
i am not sure playing Bratislava, Dnepropetrovsk and Helsinki in a row would be that wise. he'll have played Mons too so that 4 of the big challengers. yes you can get good points, but you can also get nightmare 1st rd draws. i'd expect him to miss one of Dnep or Brat for Jersey or Eckenthal. where he has a much better chance of going deep. so he gets best of both worlds.
will be interesting to see who his coach is then too.

Skupski and Seator (and Kasiri if he comes back) should play Futures, plus two Challenger qualies and then Jersey.
Cox should play all the GB Futures and two Futures in Greece. And along with Jersey, he should do qualies at Kolding and Helsinki. Evans should do the same, barring the Futures in Greece and Kolding as he won't get the funding.
They should play Futures/Challengers in December as they were made to play truant in the first half of the year.

That is true. But I hope that he won't do more than one small Challenger.
I'd prefer Eckental over Jersey, purely because that means less competition in Jersey.
It will be interesting to see Boggo's schedule, and I'd guess it would begin in Orleans, the week before the Davis Cup, as he if doesn't qualify for the US Open, then he'd be going into a vital Davis Cup match having not played for 3 weeks, which can't be the best preparation - he could do a week's worth on grass, play the challenger, and then another few days before the DC tie, and if he wins the title, then he'll have confidence.
I don't expect him to play each week afterwards, but if he did then the events I'd think he'd go for would be Grenoble, Mons/Metz Qualies, Rennes, Kolding, ATP qualies, Aachen, Eckental, Jersey, Helsinki.
I'd think he'd go for one of the other big events, but it makes sense for him to play 2 weeks in Germany and then in Jersey, especially the Jersey event as it's likely to be weak and so he should win the title, which is the most important thing of all really.
I'd say Marray, Bloomers, Goodall, Eaton and Skupksi will be mixing the challenger events with the stronger futures/UK Futures, while I think Slabba and Ward may try the Asian events - Tashkent, Seoul, Busan, Astana as they aren't going to be the strongest - money would be the biggest problem though, before returning for Jersey.
In my opinion, Marray, Josh, Eaton and Rich should do all the IH Challengers and one week of Tour qualies.
When I spoke to Jonny last week, he was inclined to play the three challengers in the states before starting indoors. He said that although he has a good record indoors, it can be a long grind with basically five- siz months of indoor events and if you stay outdoors for a bit longer you tend to be fresher for the indoor events especially if you're planning to keep playing pretty late in the season (which he is).
He wasnt 100% certain but that was the most likely plan, whether it works out well or not time will tell.
