Just curious how come we havent been able to send a GB women out to the Olympics? Just seen that on the men's side someone with a WR of 1048 is now in the draw, as is Loglo. How do they select who enters?

Loglo and Arevalo were given a place by the ITF, presumably because they are from smaller countries who won't have much representation in the Olympics.
What happens with the entry lists is that after a certain date (think it was 2nd August) the entry lists are closed to any alternates on the normal entry list, and then if anyone else withdraws after that date, the player who replaces them on the list is the highest singles ranked player who was only due to play doubles who is eligible to compete.
In the men's draw, only Niemeyer, the two chinese players and Mullings had a singles ranking (and there wasn't already 4 players from that country in the draw), so they were the first 4 alternates, and now have all made the draw (and if anyone else withdraws, unranked players will make the draw)
For the women's event.... Keothavong wasn't ranked anywhere near high enough when the cut was made and we didn't have anyone ranked high enough in doubles as well, so no-one was eligible to compete (and we weren't given an ITF WC as well)
