Yes, well it won't be Howe who gets it! (not this week)

Nice opener for Myles there. Good chance to carry some momentum from last week and get a decent run going.

im curious does any know that much about blake, what type of game style does he have, for all i know he could be a clay court serve and volley(highly unlikely) Im hoping he might have some of that Aussie grit in him to really go far,tho if my memory serves e right hes manchester born?

He seems to play a lot on the clay, so presumably that's his best surface and he's a bit of a clay-courter.

Good win for Myles in round 1 anyway to continue the momentum from last week.

I saw Myles play at Wimby about 3 years ago, think it was against Chardy (who has gone on to do ok) but he lost it 6-4 6-4 as i recall. He liked to play the points from the back of the court and had a decent backhand but not sure how his game has developed since then, although he likes to play on the clay mostly doesn't he.

Myles BLAKE (GBR) (7) defeated Jeremy JAHN (GER) 6-2 6-3

Plays Panfil now. Professor Vejmelka won, too.

Q/F
Grzegorz PANFIL (POL) (2) defeated Myles BLAKE (GBR) (7) 6-1 2-1 Retired

Pity. Hopefully it was just exhaustion or something and not serious, but it has been a really positive two weeks from Myles.

Shame to see he retired.... hope it's nothing serious and just a precaution, as he'd been going so way the last couple of weeks.

That's a great shame. But at least he seems to be back on track to an extent.
