Is Tara allowed to play this? I think she has played 10 events in the last year. Isn't that the limit?

The relevant extract from the rulebook is: "However, participation in the Draws of ITF Womens Circuit Tournaments in which a player does not earn WTA Tour Ranking points does not constitute competition in a professional tennis Tournament under this rule."

Tara has only earned points from 7 tournaments in the last year.

Kat withdrew from here 2 weeks ago - her next scheduled tournament is a 10K in Germany next week (21st)

Weird rule, though. So burnout (whatever it means) occurs only if you get points but not if you lose a first round match in thirty 10Ks a year. Very logical!

It has always mystified me.

As someone who travels a lot, frankly it is the travelling and moving round that wears you more than the actual work when you get there. Can't believe it is different for junior tennis players....

Claire Ricketts in that qualies draw. For some reason she went nearly a full year without playing before making a return in Felixstowe qualies last week. Anyone know why?

Amy Askew is going through a bad patch (although Rabot can produce shock results once in a while). But I guess she'll pick things up soon!

I've heard good things about Rabot. Shes quite tall I think and hits the ball quite hard so on grass Amy might have gotten over powered.
