Week 28 - Futures F1 (15k) - Damascus, Syria

A huge chance for Myles to pick up more points in a week than he has managed to amass in the first six months of the year as a whole:

L32: (8) Myles Blake WR 779 v Sunday Emmanuel (NGR) WR 1314 - the winner to play the winner of a match between two unranked qualifiers for a place in the QFs.

Wow, what an amazing draw. Don't mess things up Myles

He did indeed - if we had a muppet of the week award for the British players like we have muppet of the day in the pick 'ems ...

L32: (8) Myles Blake WR 779 lost to Sunday Emmanuel (NGR) WR 1314 by 4-6 6-3 6-4 bleh

In fairness to Myles, he was quite brave to go here looking for a nice draw in the first place, but when he got the kind of draw he could only have dreamt of, losing in R1 probably wasn't a great idea. cry

Myles has been beyond awful this year. So dreadfully disappointing. he's gone from being a potential top 500 breaker to a guy struggling to hold onto his ranking at all if he doesn't drastically improve

I would love to know what is going through Myles' mind at the moment as this run can't surely just be put down to bad form, for a guy who was about to break into the Top500 to lose to a player outside of the top 1300 there must be other factors playing a part. I just hope that Myles is ok and can sort himself out, whether that be mentally/physically, whatever.. and come back and start playing like he we know he can and proved last year.
