the Summer for Brits 2-4

barring any major turn arounds over notts/wimby Jamie, Josh and Alex will all head into the summer with rankings around 250-280.
there isnt a huge selection of suitable challengers for them to pick from,  most of the hard court events are in the  US/Can with a few others in South America and a couple of others dotted around in isloated places so you cant get a run in 1 geographical location. (this is assuming they dont decide to try a clay one!)

After dublin you get 6 weeks b4 the USOQ. b4 manchester the is a 15k GB grass futures so maybe that could be a good place for the lads to pick up some wins b4 manchester and at least keep the grass court tennis going into manchester.

the obvious choices for them would be lexington, Vancouver, Binghampton, Bronx, USOQ. but will their ranking get them in to these? Vancouver almost certianly not but can anyone else (stat-kings to the fore) say about the others?

instead of Vancouver there is a brazilian challenger which might be a good alternative, although i dont know what the playing conditions there would be like and if they would be suitable for the boys.

You also have to wonder how much time Jamie's going to want to spend on the road on his comeback from illness.

If he is back to 100% then i think a lot. he knows he has missed a large chunk of the year and will want to make up ground quickly. He's had some good results on the american hard courts in the past and i see him being keen to get back on with it.

Boggo has also picked up decent results on american hard courts over the years, although he has never been conisistent there (this is boggo consistency i mean like i would say he is in indoor events when fit,n ot everyne elses consistency), he could still get a few wins and move back in the right direction if he stays fit.

i know josh had the usoq back in 06 but has he ever really prospered on outdoor hard courts other than then, i dont know and cant really remember a time he did?

perhaps the 3 will travel togther, i think this could be a good thing.

hmm a quick look at last year and i think they would make all the cuts save for bronx which was 219.
although the vancouver week has only 1 atp this year so it maybe be higher

I'd suggest they play the UK Future before Manchester to get some wins together and then play the challenger - maybe then go over to the USA and play the events there, as even if they miss the cut they'll be highly seeded in qualifying and so should be able to qualify against weaker opponents and get some wins together.

Washington qualifying is a must given that Washington clashes with the Olympics, and so not only will most of the top players be in China, I think it's a 48 draw so the cut will be very low, and so qualies will be very weak, so that would be a chance to make an ATP draw.
