Great opportunity for Dan to prove himself here. Bit surprised he has got the Wild Card, maybe the LTA have pushed this as they do push Dan. Really hope that this spurs Dan on and he takes it with both hands.
And I like that decision, a) it's a Brit, and b) it's a young guy, hopefully he can get a lot out of it, a kind draw and you never know...you never know who's going to be on the other side of the net.

This has come from nowhere, but suggests that they think a lot of him as a player and that he's the one of the juniors most likely to make it to the top of the game, and good luck to him in the event, even though I can't see him winning a match regardless of who he draws.
Surprised Slabba didn't get it after beating Okun, but maybe they saw the scoreline against Dancevic today and thought that he isn't going to have a chance of beating anyone in the draw, so it's better to give the WC to a junior who will benefit more in the long run.
Just a guess... The LTA is opposed to the top players playing at Queen's Juniors (and rightly so - it's an exho) but the Queen's, of course, want to attract well known Juniors. So it is possible that Evo was told that he would have to play the Junior tourney.
As you can see, it's not very strong logic. And I hope it is not true.
Interesting decision, Evo's really been thrown in the deep end here, no hiding places in this draw. Absolutely no expectations of him but its a great chance to showcase his game and what he can do to a wider audience and he's got bags of talent, that's for sure
I still would have given it to Slabba as this wc could be 1-2 years too early for Evo and result in a thrashing but hopefully he can rise to the challenge and make it competitive
Dan's unlikely to break anyone's serve on a fast grass court like they have at Queen's.
So I'd say that the nightmare draw would be someone like Hewitt, who can return well, because that brings the dreaded 6-0 6-0 in 35 minutes horribly into view. And if you're thinking that before you even step onto the court, it makes it far more likely to happen.
Karlo would be a better draw, because he should at least pick up a few service games.

saw Dan at edinburgh when he beat another promising youngster cox. however i still think this is better than giving it to Jamie Murray who wants to play singles riding on the top of his doubles reputation. Jamie needs to prove himself by qualifying for atp/challenger singles by working hard and qualifying not expecting wild cards based on an none existent singles record which he had in the past!
Isn't just a ture state of the Media's attention to tennis that Jamie getting a WC to qualifying has got more interest than Evans getting a WC to the main draw
