I'm guessing, but maybe to ease the strain on the players & thus to encourage them to participate?  Most, if not in fact all, of them are also involved in the men's & women's doubles & quite a few in their respective singles competitions as well...

Great results, Hutch in particular. Didn't see this coming at all, the first round win that is, never mind the second round!

Great win for Hutch (and Huss), Lipsky & Martin are probably the toughest unseeded team they could have faced.

And 'twill be K & T, who saw off the 13th seeds by 3 & 2!

*  The seeded pairs are dropping like flies in the men's.  The only ones now left standing are the 1st (the Bryans), the 2nd (Nestor & Zimonjic), the 5th (Aspelin & Knowle) & the 8th (Björkman & Ullyett)! eyepopping.gif  Interestingly, the unseeded Pablo Cuevas & Luís Horna (URU/PER) are going like a train in the top half of the draw:  so far they've seen off the 7th seeds (Clément & Llodra), Lindstedt & Nieminen & the 9th seeds (Dlouhy & Paes), all fairly easily in straight sets (5 & 4, 4 & 1 & 4 & 4 respectively)! omg.gif  They take on the Bryans in the QFs & I wouldn't bet against them...

Now the third seeds, Erlich & Ram, have gone, beaten 4 & 4 by the alternates, Soares & Vemic (BRA/SRB)!

Do we dare hope the BBC will televise Ross' match? They can't give us any crap about it not being on a televised court, as Andy's match against Almagro was on the same court. I mean, look at the other options, two Russian women on the main court (who cares outside of Russia, really) and Gonzalez v Ginepri on the other court, which hardly sets the pulse racing.

I.e. the QFs.  So they have! smile  Well spotted, wolfie!  Let's hope they don't get too ring-rusty while they're waiting to find out whether they face Vladimira Uhlirova & Marcin Matkowski's partner, Mariusz Fyrstenberg, or the third seeds, Victoria Azarenka & Bob Bryan, there!
