Not a great draw for James. Rudnev's only previous match against a Brit was when he beat Michael Ouvarov 7-5 2-6 7-5 in a very weak qualifying competition for St Petersburg ATP three years ago.

Oh, yes, I remember Ouvarov in that draw. Seems so long ago - Ouvarov's disappeared after playing a tournament or two last year.

haha, why does Feaver do this, he seems to be really rubbish for a long time then will have an odd good result which will really shock you.

perhaps there are certain styles of player who he likes playing against or just fussy about surface

Nice going Feavy! Just as his top 25 spot started to lok in jeopardy.

839 CRO BELIC, Luka next up.

He won Bosnia F2 a couple of weeks back and was once ranked 5 in juniors. Tough one.

Oops, I composed that post an hour ago and forgot to hit send ... though in this case, adding in current rankings (rather than the ones on the drawsheet, which are a week old) makes quite a difference because those Bosnia F2 points went on yesterday, hence the 684 rather than 839.

These successive points for Jamie will lift him back into the top 1000, and to a new career high, when the new rankings are issued post-Roland Garros - around 950.

Great win for Feaver, and this must have been one of those games where he times everything sweetly, and this is a great win for him. Good to see he'll be at a CH next week as well which is a good reward for this win
