Ricey is on his own this week, it seems:

Yes, let's hope so - I meant Ricey was on his own in qualifying.

FQR: (q7) David Rice WR 1126 v Takero Akaba (JPN) UNR - Monday

Alex has got an SE here smile.gif but has a tough R1 match against the player who pushed him so close in the Balaguer semis. Also, there is a stronger field here and Marse-Vidri isn't seeded.

L32: (SE) Alexander Ward UNR v Jordi Marse-Vidri (ESP) WR 596 - not on OoP for Monday

If this is fresh in Alex's mind then surely he may have a shot

Also We need a nickname for Mr Ward.

We can't call him Wardy coz James gets called that.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Alex "the Final" Ward? (as opposed to James the semi-final Wardy)

... or Boardy, cos if you use his first name he gets confused with Boggo and if you use Wardy he gets confused with James.

Or Wardi.. Young & hip spelling. Could be misconstrued as simply a spelling error though..

We could call him Award to celebrate the fact that finalists are involved in a presentation ceremony ... and it's his name.

Oh God, this just brings back the painful memories of all the GB girls nicknames like "katiepegs" and "melichka" - I have a watermelon gun that SHOOTS WATERMELONS AT... wait... actually blokey nicknames I have no problem with so why am I saying anything?

Never mind. I'm quite happy to call him Alex and know who I'm referring to, so NYEH ignore.gif
