Thornley lost 6-2 6-0 confused.gif I doubt that and think the ATP may have it wrong.

Bradshaw won 6-2 2-0 ret and faces 1719 ISR YITZHAKI, Noam [15] for a place in the main draw.

Let's hope that's wrong!

Edit: but ITF have it too and it's Waite who's on the OoP for tomorrow. cry So either Sean is a bit under the weather or 17-year-old Waite is improving very fast ...

QR1: (q2) Sean Thornley WR 1064 lost to Richard Waite (GER) UNR by 2 & 0 bleh
QR1: Timothy Patient UNR beat (q7) Harrison Keyser (AUS) WR 1231 by 6-2 2-0 ret. biggrin

FQR: Timothy Patient UNR v (q15) Noam Yitzhaki (ISR) WR 1719

Tomorrow's order of play confirms Sean's loss, with his conqueror scheduled to play in QR2. Shame!

I know Richard, he is coached by his father & is a great lad & a very good prospect, no surprise in that result, he has far too much game for Sean.

Does this mean he has an English father (as his name suggests)? We should get the LTA to offer him some funding ... LOL

Patiently does it for Timothy! smile

FQR: Timothy Patient UNR beat (q15) Noam Yitzhaki (ISR) WR 1719 by 3 & 5 biggrin

L32: Matt Illingworth WR 1023 v Heinrich Heyl (RSA) WR 938

... and what a great draw too, though the two WCs did get through a round in Greece F1, which is why they have just gone on the ranking list! smile

Also, isn't Konstantinos Mikos the guy that British junior player Oliver Golding beat in a French junior tournament whilst appearing on that BBC documentary about young & talented people?

Well I suppose it's nice to see that you're taking your role as Captain Obvious of Pun seriously.  Remember, don't let standards rise.

LOL you have a point, it was the lamest one yet.

Re. Mikos - I don't know about Golding but he took a t/b set off Ken last week in R2, before Ken woke up and won the next two sets 0 & 2. Also, Illingworth's opponent Heyl lost to Sean in 3 sets in R1 last week.

Bamford and Illingworth are fourth seeds in the doubles:

R1: (4) BAMFORD (GBR) / ILLINGWORTH (GBR) v GORITZKA (GER) / THURNER (GER)

Just flicking through Richard Waite's profile on ITF, I notice he started tennis at the age of 2. Interesting contrast with Andy Murray, who was 50% older when he started. Does anyone know where ITF gets this bizarre information and what one needs to do in order to "start tennis"?
