Great snakes! That's terribly strong. Not just the high ranked players but the quality - Young, Nishikori and Anderson can do very big things in the future plus Ginepri and Clement have been ranked so high in the recent past.
Who do you think the wild cards should go to? I see no reason to give them to Boggo, Bloomers and Goodall given that by now they should be making the cut for Challengers and they will receive WCs in the bigger grass tourneys anyway.
So I'd like to see them going to -
Marray (injury quota), Kasiri (grass quota), Ward (up and coming quota) and Slabinsky (most improved player of the last year quota).
Strong entry list there with hardly any players who aren't comfortable on the grass which means it there's not going to be many easy draws, and only Clement from that list is likely to still be in Roland Garros in the second week, and that would only be in doubles
WC's will probably go to Boggo, Bloomers, Goodall and 1 other (presuming that Baker isn't fit), with the other probably being Slabba, although depending on how week the qualifying draw is going to be, it could make more sense to put the stronger players in the quali draw to get the 3 ranking points and also to get more Brits in the main draw - won't happen though
Yes this is run by the LTA and will not have its own website. I have been given the details of 2 of the organisers incl mob numbers and have been promised regular updates on the LTA site.
I read somewhere that this is the last Surbiton event and it'll move to Nottingham from next year. Can anybody confirm/debunk this?
Still at the rumoured stage I think at the moment, but Nottingham is going to get something to compensate for losing the ATP event so definately a possibility.
WC's here should go to Skupski, Bloomers, Goodall and Ward, with Boggo only getting a WC if he is still in Turkey on friday and so couldn't play qualifying (which would give him a SE into Surbiton anyway, so he wouldn't need the WC).
Boggo should have no trouble qualifying for this at all, and so should get the morale boosting wins to get him in the main draw, as well as the extra 2/3 points for making it (and if he loses in qualies, then he's not likely to have won a main draw match anyway)
Ideally we'd have 4 qualifiers here, with them being Boggo, Goodall, Bloomers +1 other, leaving the next 4 best players to get the WC's

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
made my day
I'd give cards to Skupski and Labadze for sure. The latter for entertainment value.
