He may not have added any points to his total since the end of March (when we had a bit of a false alarm that he might have made it), but thanks to Pierrick Ysern, Christian Magg, Andrei Mlendea, Pedro Clar, Vladimir Obradovic, Hun-Woo Nam and Dusan Lojda (down 361 to 734!) all failing to defend points and none of the players who added lots of points in Futures the week before last quite managing to catch him, Edward has moved up 7 places this week to 494 meaning that he has finally made it into the top 500.
After Slabba and Wardy, he is the third Brit to break the 'curse' in the last 6 months. and we now have 9 men in the top 500.
Reaching the top 500 means that you can apply to be a Division 2 Player Member of the ATP (see rule 1.12.A.2 at http://www.aat.com.ar/Files/2008%20Atp%20Tour%20Rule%20Book.pdf) - I've no idea whether it's worth it, but it must be nice to be eligible. However, Edward had better hurry - you have to get your application in while you are in the top 500 and with a point to defend from an Algerian Future this week, he's likely to drop out again, hopefully only temporarily, when next Monday's list comes out.
Anyway, congratulations, Edward - good luck on getting another point or more in Katowice to celebrate!

Btw, there are also big moves for Sean Thornley (up 190 to 1064), Dan Evans (up 216 to 1123), Marcus Willis (up 63 to 1086) and Josh Milton (up 66 to 1186), with Sean and Dan due for further big moves up when the Edinburgh and Kos points go on the rankings next week.
I've just updated the GB top 25 table with all the new rankings.

Edward has held onto his place in the top 500 for another week despite dropping a point. He is exactly 500th now, but another point is due to come off next Monday, unfortunately.
