L32: Chris Eaton WR 647 v Sarvar Ikramov (UZB) WR 710 L32: (4) Alex Slabinsky WR 371 v Weerapat Doakmaiklee (THA) WR 783
Both Brits are in the same quarter of the draw. Slabba myay live to regret not taking full advantage of the much weaker draw last week, but he has a reasonably good draw as far as the semis this week too.

Let us hope that Ti Chen [273], who's the top seed in qualies, won't land up in any of the two qualifier spots in Slabba's quarter.
If Slabba gets to the semis, he'll be ranked around 338 with 101 points. If Slabba gets to the final, he'll be ranked around 321 with 107 points. If Slabba wins the title, he'll be ranked around 310 with 113 points.
L32: Chris Eaton WR 648 beat Sarvar Ikramov (UZB) WR 710 by 7-6(7) 6-3 L32: (4) Alex Slabinsky WR 372 beat Weerapat Doakmaiklee (THA) WR 783 by 4 & 1
Tomorrow ...
L16: Chris Eaton WR 648 v (7) Nathan Thompson (USA) WR 491
Thompson's only match against a Brit was when he thrashed Tom Rushby 0 & 2 two years ago.
L16: (4) Alex Slabinsky WR 372 v Victor Kozin (RUS) WR 701
After reaching two Futures SFs and two more QFs last summer, Kozin played St Petersburg ATP qualifying, but didn't play between the loss to Marchenko there and a Russian Future in April, nearly 6 months later. His R1 win here snapped a streak of six straight set losses.

I notice Slabba's conqueror in Andijan last week, the American, Ryan Young, managed to qualify again this week, but today lost out to the more highly ranked Kazakhstani & fellow qualifier, Alexey Kedryuk (538), 1 & 1! (For the record, he's in the opposite half of the draw...!)
Interesting guy, this Ryan Young. In his life, he has played 12 tournaments and both the times he has won a main draw round, he's gone on to reach the final.

Good news & bad from the Uzbek front:
Slabba beat Kozin 6-2 7-6(5)
Eaton lost quite badly to Thompson 3 & 0!
Whoever arranged the seeding couldn't have done better if he'd tried! All eight are through to tomorrow's (I presume) QFs, in which it will of course now be Slabba who takes on Thompson!
Good win for Slabba and it looks like he's continuing his good rise up the rankings, and another SF here would be good for him again, although Thompson looks to be in good form this week seeing how easily he beat Chris
Another triumph for Slabba yesterday: he & Eaton beat Fufygin & Reshnetikov 4 & 2 to reach the semi-finals of the doubles, where they'll face the second seeds, Bubka & Klymenko (UKR/UKR), who had a bit more of a struggle in their QF (beat Krasnorutskiy & Kumantsov 6-7(4) 6-4 [10-4]!
