Anne Keothavong is in the main draw here and needs to reach the final to have any realistic chance of direct entry to the Wimbledon main draw. In qualifying:
(2)Mailyne Andrieux (FRA) v BYE Ines Janbakhsh (GBR) v Yuliya Lyndina (UKR) Fatma Al Nabhani (OMA) v BYE (8/wc)Rebeca Neves (BRA) v BYE
Copied from a translation on WTAworld, I hope Anne and everyone else is OK:-
Three spanish tennis players are being retained in Beirut
Marta Marrero, Lourdes Domínguez and Eva Fernández and also their coach are being retained on their hotel in beirut because of the current conflict on the Lebanon, where the fightings between the government supporters and the Hezbolá armies caused at least ten deaths.
According to Xavi Rubio, Eva Fernández's boyfriend, the three players were in Lebanon playing an ITF tournament when they found trapped by the conflict.
"They are being kept in the hotel, waiting to leave. They can't leave the hotel or go to the airport, there are snipers on the streets" said Rubio. The hotel is half an hour away from the Beirut airport, but "they can't even catch a car", he concluded. ------
