would boggo take a week off at this stage? it might be a sensible option (and one he hasnt often taken up on in the past), a chance to recharge the batteries which he may need, even just to sit down and take stock of where his carrer is heading. It would only give him 1 week be RGQ, but i think going in fresh could sevre hm well. he needs a good grass season.
last year baker skipped the clay season to train. maybe he will again. 2 ways to look at it. he wont lsoe anythign by not playing but if he does he could gain a lot.
if alex goes to edinburgh it will be a shame in a way, as it was the last future he played back in 2004 so fittingly shows his plight if he end sup back there.

hmm anotehr off the wall idea, but could boggo totally skip the clay? there are back to back hardcourt indian challengers then another hard court in US b4 surbiton (where he may need aWC right)?
could be an idea as realisticaly boggo could pick up more point there than he could over a clay challenger and RG.

Boggo and Baker would have had an outside chance of making Rome qualies, however strange that statement sounds.
They would have been 12th on the alternate list, but ahead of them would have been 7 italians.
4 of them would have recieved WCs to the main draw, while the other 3 go into qualies, putting them 5th on the alternate list. Then, Darcis is 3rd alternate to the main draw (but almost certain to get in), leaving them needing just 4 players above them to pull out, still be in tournaments on the Saturday and make the draw. (of course, they've got other plans which they'll probably get more points from)
Goodall is 14th alternate so is unlikely to sneak in, and probably won't choose this event, but it would be great to see him in a MS qualies
