thumbsup.gif Thanks Drew. There I was thinking I was bringing good news, only to find wolf had beaten me to it. rofl.gif

They don't figure in tomorrow's action.

Good chance for some more points for Ross (and maybe for a while as I'm not expecting too much out of the clay court season)

Just for the record, Rosol's obviously got his eye in already:  he qualified for the singles, but today put out the fifth seed, Iván Navarro Pastor, 6-3 6-7(8) 7-5! wink

And they're safely through to the QFs with a 2 & 0 win over the Italian WCs! clap.gif  They're also now the highest seeds left in the draw, as the Spanish top seeds, Rubén Ramirez Hidalgo & Santiago Ventura, went out 2 & 2 to Stefano Galvani & Alberto Martín this afternoon.  wink  Their QF opponents will be the all-German pairing of Denis Gremelmayr & Simon Greul...

Convincing win for the two of them. clap.gif I like. teamwork.gif They have a day off tomorrow in the doubles, but Rosol is keeping his hand in by playing his second-round singles match having knocked out the 5th seed in round 1, not bad for a qualifier.wink

Play was apparently rained off today & Rosol won't play his singles match until 10.00 BST tomorrow (Grandstand Court).  He's due back on court with Ross in the fourth encounter on the centre court.  It's perhaps worth noting that Gremelmayr has his singles encounter with the top seed, Albert Montanes, to finish in the first match on that same court, too.  That stands all square at 6-7(4) 6-4 4-4...

They lost 3-6, 6-2, 10-4. Shame.

This is so disappointing but I'll reiterate, yet again, my opinion that if Ross is going to specialise in the doubles, surely he needs a settled partner? At the moment it seems to be a case of pot-luck and whoever turns up at a tournament and fancies a game. disbelief.gif

I share your disappointment, helki, & agree that he'd in all probability benefit from having a regular partner.  Given the extent to which doubles teams at Ross's level seem to chop & change partners, however, I'd be interested to hear from anyone who is better acquainted with the way things work in those circles just how easy (or difficult) it is to make that happen... hmm

Like most people I would love to see a regular British pairing. James Auckland, Ross and Jamie Delgado are all playing doubles full time, can one pairing not come from these three?
