Well Rice beat him comprehensively last time so Morgan Philips has every chance! (probably famous last words!)
Its frustrating that some weeks the Spanish Futures are the first to publish results every day and then other weeks its like pulling teeth to get the scores.
FQR: Morgan Phillips UNR beat (q2) Marcelo Demoliner (BRA) WR 804 by 3 & 4
L32: Morgan Phillips UNR v (JE) Ricardo Urzua-Rivera (CHI) UNR
Yes! Morgan qualifies for the first time since he started his comeback and must have a real chance of getting a ranking point against an unranked junior exempt. The winner would have to play the no. 1 seed in R2, but just getting back on the rankings by gaining a point would be a start!

Footnote: 19-y-o Urzua-Rivera's senior record is W 0 L 7 - yippee!
However, in Juniors, he won the Banana Bowl, beating Dan Cox 4 & 4 on the way, and the Copa Milo, beating David Rice 5 & 1 on the way, but lost 1 & 1 in R1 of Junior Wimbledon, so he clearly prefers clay, as he would coming from Chile.

thats a good result. He should be in with a chance against the JE but this is morgan phillips... i seem to remember him only being able to defeat top seeds
Morgan will be back on the rankings! (not sure when because this won't get on right after Miami and haven't we got a DC week after that?)
L32: Morgan Phillips UNR beat (JE) Ricardo Urzua-Rivera (CHI) UNR by 2 & 2
His next opponent has not been decided yet, but will probably be no. 1 seed Pere Riba-Madrid (ESP) WR 264. Riba-Madrid beat Morgan 2 & 3 back in 2004 and has reached the Final of the last six Futures he has played in (in between attempts at Challenger and ATP qualifying), winning three of them, including last week's when for some reason he went through qualifying too, so had to win eight matches in a row.

Yay! Ricey's hittin' the doubles trail again: he & his new partner, Facundo Bagnis (ARG), dumped out the fourth seeds, Nesterov & Pérez Pérez (RUS/ESP), 7-6(5) 7-5 yesterday.
