Tournament Key : M-FU-GBR-05A-2008 Dates : 24 Mar to 30 Mar 2008 Venue : St Peter, Jersey, Great Britain Surface : Hard
Fresh from his title in Bath Josh should be the highest British seed.
Slabba, Kasiri & Skupski should make the MD.
Bammy, Flanagan,Brewer, Smith, Feaver, Hewitt, Bains, Illingworth, Phillip Barlow, Thornley, Miotto, Kinsellea, Bradshaw & Sagoo are in the alts with more Brits Im sure.
Jag should have a wildcard here Drew. Hopefully he can win as his point will drop off after Miami. Needs to keep that world ranking to get the seedings in qualifying draws. If he could just stay healthy for more than a few weeks at a time!

No. 1 seed Bergman was just below Skupski on the entry list, which implies that Ken scraped a DA or got in with a WC but none of the other Brits on the list would have got in without a WC - this means that most of Bammy, Flan, Brewer, Smith, Feaver, Hewitt & Bains can't have turned up.
Who the WCs went to is anyone's guess - not Sagoo as you can see, maybe a couple of the players I have just listed plus Arlidge & Morgan after last week's relative success? Hardly any Brits with a chance of qualifying have turned up - we only have three seeds and none of them are the top seed in their section.

Why on earth doesn't Jag have the wildcard? Scandalous. Is it actual LTA policy to give wildcards to British Tour winners or is it a case of if your face fits? Either way, I think Jag has a good chance of qualifying. As long as he stays fit for a month or so he'll be regularly qualifying and scoring points from now on imo

As expected, lots of bagels and breadsticks getting handed out to Brits today (and sorry to see Fitzy lose a tight 2-setter too, albeit to another Brit), but if you're 'patient', you might be in for a nice surprise.

22-year-old Patient had a career high of 1168 in 2004 but then played just six tournaments in 2005, one in 2006 and none last year. In his comeback tournament last week, he lost very narrowly 6-1 4-6 6-7(4) to Oostdam in QR1, this week he's already improved on that performance!
I'd guess that wcs have gone to likes of Cox, Milton, Smethurst, Hewitt maybe ??
Strange that Sagoo hasn't got one but not entirely surprised he lost to Illingworth who's got to be one of the worst possible opponents game-wise for a player like Sagoo........Illingworth's really fast, runs everything down and metronomically consistent
