QR1: Alex Bogdanovic WR 180 v (WC) George Bastl (SUI) WR 470
This match is 1st on Court 12 at 10.00 EDT = 14.00 GMT, with QR2 strting not less than three hours after the start of QR1.
Now nearly 33 and needing a WC to get in here, Bastl beat Bloomers in two close sets last month. Boggo has played him no less than five times and leads their H2H 3-2:
2003 Surbiton Ch QF --- WON 6-3 3-6 6-1 2005 Wrexham Ch L16 - LOST 6-7(1) 1-6 2005 Wroclaw Ch L32 -- WON 6-3 4-1 RET 2006 Newport ATP L16 - WON 6-1 7-6(6) 2007 Austr. Open QR1 - LOST 3-6 4-6
The seeds in this section are (q6) Lukas Lacko (CZE) WR 148 and (q1) Benjamin Becker (GER) WR 109, who plays Niemeyer in QR1.
Jamie isn't here and would have made the cut, so I assume he has finally decided to take a break!

Not overly confident with the fact Alex's match hadn't finished, although I suppose he would have had to have won very easily for the match to be over in an hour.
I think he should beat Bastl, and then I'd back him to beat Lacko as well, but the fact he has to do both of the same day is the only thing that worries me, which is why I want a quick win for Boggo and Lacko's match (presuming he wins - it would be great if Todero could win) to be a long 3 setter so it doesn't go back on first in the Qr2 matches
I think Boggo can qualify here as he has a better baseline game than Becker (just need to worry about the serve) and hopefully with Gilbert with him and Becker being first in line for a LL spot (and 1 will probably come up) there's always the hope Becker tanks the match
Great win for Boggo there, hopefully getting rid of the horrible loss he suffered to him last time they met and he's won quick enough not to have too much taken out of him for his next match
