RE: Week 12 - Futures F11 (10k) - Castelldefels, Spain

He has only missed one week out of 12 so far this year, so he must be a bit knackered! (even if he hasn't been playing that many matches per week)

A Bulgarian qualifier by the name of Grigor Dimitrov (1112), so he should make it through to the QFs... pray.gif

No, Stircrazy's just stirring wink - or jumping the gun at least. Dimitrov & no. 6 seed Poch-Gradin aren't due to play until Tuesday.

How prophetic was that?  Dimitrov won 5 & 4! biggrin  nana.gif

Sadly, in the doubles, Pérez Puigdomenech & Pérez Pérez, the top seeds, had their revenge over Rice & Semolina ( rofl.gif ) today:  they won, but not without a struggle, 4-6 6-4 [10-4]! cry

I hope you had some money on it, stircrazy!

The no. 4 seed retired against Perez-Puigdomenech too, so there are no seeds left in Ward's quarter. For some reason, he has another day off tomorrow.

Thursday

L16: James Ward WR 504 v (Q) Gregor Dimitrov (BUL) WR 1112

Sadly, no! cry  I'm not really a betting woman, so the only time I venture into a bookie's is on Grand National day & even then, I usually end up the loser! frustrated.gif

This is the kind of draw James needs to capatalise on to move up to the next level, after Dimitrov is a good player and I'd say is the favourite based on their first round matches.

No seeds left in the quarter means he has to try and take advantage and make the semis, but Brits are notorious for not taking advantage of these chances

Yes, I know what you mean, all the seeds in a section going out usually remotely activates the self-destruct button on most Brits ("ooo I might get a points windfall this week, that's just TOO scary!") - I blame Tigger for leading the the way in that AO that ToJo ended up winning.

Just beat me to it Rob!
7-5 7-6(3)

PEREZ PUIGDOMENECH, is ranked 546 so James is perhaps favourite for the QF!
