Week 11 - Challenger - $35,00 H - Salinas, Ecuador

Jamie Delgado continues his South American tour, this week in Ecuador. He's reverted to a previous partner, Luxembourgois Gilles Muller. Their first round opponents are the number 2 seeds, Argentines Eduardo Schwank and Horacio Zaballos.

tough one. But Muller has a huge serve and Jamie is like a terrier at the net!

At last a glimmer of hope on what has proved to be a bad day for Brit tennis-players:  Delgo & Muller earlier today thrashed the Argentinian second seeds, Schwank & Zeballos, 1 & 3! smile clap.gifthumbsup.gif

*feels obliged to back up Steven - I like to watch doubles, but can't get excited over who beats whom outside of DC (not even VERY excited over Jamie M) oops.gif

i agree with Mad and steven... i think that there is a certain attraction to singles maybe to do with how the ranking works

I don't get it why people constantly bag doubles. Do you just not enjoy watching it? Do you think because you have a partner to help you through it is not a true test of tennis ability? I for one much prefer to watch doubles.

I would be truely interested to hear your views.

As I said, I do like watching doubles. I think it is the constant changing of partners that puts me off following the rankings.

Dont think anyone's "bagging" doubles. Whatever that means. Think a few of the reasons why many people don't find it as appetising to follow might be the lack of coverage (no matter how high up the player you support is ranked it's unlikely you'll see them on TV in their career apart from DC and maybe Wimbledon), lack of prize money (I'm a big believer that if the guys who "concentrated on doubles" were anywhere near as talented as their singles counterparts at similar ranking then they would be paid as such) and also as has been said some people just don't like watching it.
