Now 4-4 - just over half the games in the match have been breaks of serve. (this doesn't seem at all out of the ordinary for a Katie match!)

QR1: (q15) Katie O'Brien WR 124 beat Selima Sfar (TUN) WR 167 by 6-3 7-6(6) smile.gif

That's 10 points and she plays (q3) Cetkovska or Zahlavova Strycova (both Czechs, currently 1 set all) for a place i nthe main draw.

Good win. And 10 very handy ranking points. Qualies at tier 1/gs are very rewarding.

The 3rd seed in Katie's section, Cetkovska, has been knocked out by Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

Which would normally gift Katie a golden chance, except Zahlavova won a 25K event recently... so... er... best of luck Katie!

Pleased that Katie took this opportunity - her third consecutive favourable draw (Sfar has not won a set all year) but Barbora ZS is in good form, as Silver says, and will be tougher.

Bremond looked very good a year ago when she was top 40, but has hardly won a match recently so should be low in confidence. The match before Anne's has just started the second set.

Keeping an eye on Anne's score while having a laugh watching Fed trying to find a way to tank hard enough against Pete in the 2nd set to let him actually win it and keep the crowd happy smile.gif

Anne's serve was far more under pressure early on, but she got the first break for 4-3.

Got broken back straight away, natch ...
