Week 11 - Futures F3 (15k) - Perth, Australia

A couple of Brits have turned up in qualifying in Western Australia:

QR1: (q2) Tom Rushby WR 692 v Marvin Barker (AUS) UNR
QR1: Dan Cottier UNR v (q15) Sun-Yong Kim (KOR) WR 1495 (CH 660 in 2006)

The really weird thing about this is that Tom withdrew from this Future on 26 Feb - if he hadn't, he'd be 1st Alt on the list and (since the ITF list does not take into account last minute w/ds) might well have scraped a place in the main draw. I don't think I've ever noticed a w/d then decide to play in qualifying before! hmm

... but getting thrashed by an unranked player who then lost to another unrankedp layer in QR2 certainly isn't good news - shall we put it down to not being completely recovered?

QR1: (q2) Tom Rushby WR 692 lost to Marvin Barker (AUS) UNR by 2 & 2 bleh
QR1: Dan Cottier UNR lost to (q15) Sun-Yong Kim (KOR) WR 1495 (CH 660 in 2006) by 3 & 4 cry

The last time he beat a player ranked inside the top 800 was the beginning of september and before that it was May!

His current ranking flatters i think!!!

There was talk of Tom retiring from singles and I think results like this will push him towards that
