Week 11 - Futures F2 (10k) - Montréal, Canada

I see what CourtCrazy meant about Candna F2 being much stronger than F1 - Ross, Kyle, Timothy & Jonathan were seeded 1, 4, 6 & 9 in qualifying last week.
I can only assume it's because there is no Future in the US next week now that the set of three in Texas has ended, though having said that, out of three new main draw seeds among the top 4, just one played in Texas and the other three haven't played anywhere for a few weeks.

QR1: Christopher Harfield UNR v (q1) Riccardo Ghedin (ITA) WR 723
QR1: Jonathan Kinsella WR 1495 v Michael Orden (USA) UNR
QR1: Kyle Brassington WR 1404 v Alain Humblet (CAN) UNR
QR1: Ross Connolly WR 1244 v (q5) Enrico Iannuzzi (ITA) WR 802
QR1: Timothy Bradshaw WR 1495 v Benjamin Raynauld (CAN) UNR

The winner of match 1 above will play the winner of match 2 and Kyle could get the no. 3 seed in QR2, so the Brits are going to need to take out players ranked hundreds of places above them this week to get anywhere near the main draw.

A lucky break here as no. 1 seed Ghedin either withdrew or got promoted to the main draw, since Christopher was supposed to play him first and Kinsella would have met the winner of that match. Unfortunately, Christopher contrived to lose to the alternate, but Jonny will get a chance to avenge that defeat in QR2.

Kyle also had a convincing win, while Ross must be a bit miffed that as the highest-ranked Brit here, he keeps getting the duffest draws! cry

Rhyne Williams is young. That's an impressive ranking for his age!

Hope Kyle can take him out!

That's some turnaround and quite a few wins now that your boys have clocked up since they went to Canada. smile.gif

So, Jonny won as well, and I'm guessing Kyle had to save a match point or two!

This is more than a little ambitious given the quality of the field this week, but amazingly enough there is live streaming for the semis and final here!

FQR: Jonathan Kinsella WR 1495 lost to (q11) Adam Kennedy (AUS) WR 940 by 7-6(2) 6-4 cry
FQR: Kyle Brassington WR 1404 lost to Ross Wilson (USA) WR 1221 by 3 & 2 cry

L32: (LL) Jonathan Kinsella WR 1502 v (Q) Todd Paul (USA) WR 887

Jonny seems to have given a reasonably good account of himself today and deserves his unexpected LL place, I'd say. Kyle must be disappointed going down that easily to someone who's only ranked just above where he will be in the next ranking list. Will he get revenge over Paul for his 6-3 5-7 6-4 loss in R2 last week?
