Week 10 - Futures F3B (10k) - Roma-Eur, Italy

No, I don't know why it's '3B' either hmm but James Feaver has turned up here:

QR1: (q12) James Feaver WR 1010 v (WC) Mirko Nasoni (ITA) UNR

The other seed in his section is (q2) Marco di Vuolo (ITA) WR 654

Italy F3 was this week, week 09; there's an Italy F4 in week 11 - presumably this is an extra added after the original list was issued?

I'm sure that's part of the explanation, but they usually call them 3A in those circumstances. Not important, obviously, just weird! smile.gif

I didn't see that coming! cry Nasoni is 17, has never played in ITF juniors and this is just his 3rd Future - he's lost in R1 in the other two, but he did beat two players with one ranking point each convincingly to qualify for the second one.

Nasoni is actually 27.  And he's got a W10 L11 record, so's he's not so bad.

Oops, that would explain why he hasn't played in Juniors (I only looked at junior results since 2000 and senior results in the last year, since I thought he was only 17) - I'd still expect someone ranked near the top 1000 to normally beat an unranked player though, even if the unranked player sometimes wins matches in Futures qualifying, and I certainly wouldn't see a 0 & 4 loss coming!

Still, James's tennis can't be worse than my subtraction 2007-1980 = 17 ashamed
