Katie Mel and Anne all trying to qualify

Mel vs Morita 1st on center court at 10am (4.30am uk time)
Anne vs Scheepers 3rd on court 1
Katie vs Tulyaganova 5th on court 1

I think Katie and Anne can pretty close to making the main draw. Shame they just missed out

Katie has now moved into the main draw - must be about the lowest ranked player ever to gain direct entry into a Tier 2 event!

Katie will move up to about no.109 if she gets to R2, and no.93 if she gets to the quarter-finals. Dare we dream?

Looks like Anne also won as tomorrow's oop has (Court 1: 10am = 4.30 GMT):

Melanie SOUTH (GBR)
vs
Ekaterina DZEHALEVICH (BLR)


followed by


Kathrin WOERLE (GER)

Anne KEOTHAVONG (GBR)

Further good news for Anne is that most of the high seeds have gone out, increasing her chance of an LL if she loses in final qualifying (Niculescu or Zheng will be very tough)
