British tennis membership

not sure how many on here belong to the currnt lta membership scheme, but i have just recieved details of the new scheme and it is broken down into membership £25 per annum (or 15 if you dont want to be in the wimby ballot) and £35 for Ace and the BT mag. Also to get Ace subscrition i think you have to be a member, so if that all you are interested in maybe better to get whsmith to order it for you? (no  bt mag tho)

so thats £60 in total. i cant remember how much i am currently paying, but i am sure its not that much. but what benfits do you get that currently you dont?

listed benefits:

Wimby Ballot - old
E-newswtter - new
membership/Discount card - old
tips from top coaches & players - well this wasnt includded b4 but its not worth anything is it, infos all out there, plus its in ace.
lta player rating - old
online members area - new (maybe will help find opponents which could make it good value, although london tennis forum can already do this for free)
emails on local competitons - new
entry to prize draws for GS trips - not sure, think new
discount on pre-wimby events - again not sure
ongoing benefits??

also i dont think the mimi BT mag isn't that great, somtiems they have reviews of the challengers/futures etc with the odd good interviw. but often the interview is posted on the lta website anyway, and most of the rest of the mag is boring imo.

yeah if you are affiliated to a club you get for free the £25 package.

its says its free for 1 year, i dont know if that means when you renew your club membership you get it again free, or if its only going to be free this year.
