Wouldn't read too much into results from these tourneys....surface is incredibly lifeless...slower even than clay and not as high bouncing so almost impossible to hit an opponent off the court...basically you can't crack an egg on the courts ! Favours the machine-like hackers who can just grind all day long
Should be a learning curve for the likes of Broady, Windley and Rae
Broady seeded 7th, won in straights, so did Dani Brown
Windley lost 3&4 to unranked Croat, I'm sort of surprised and unsurprised.....she's quite consistent and very fast - bags of talent....but she's got a very slight frame so if she played someone just getting it back in play, not sure if she could outhit them on such a surface
