RE: BRITISH SUCCESSES

I'd assumed that, though don't know why.

Still, what's a pal more or -less among friends ; ouch, that sounds like one of Steven's!            wink

Just three doubles highs to add, but two of them show significant jumps.

Chris Eaton moves to 455, Dan Evans is into the top 800 at 794, whilst Josh Milton leaps an astonishing 400+ places to 927! Edinburgh should hold happy memories for the two youngsters!

This week sees just three new highs, but they're all good ones (yes, I realise ALL new highs are good ones; I mean 'substantial' by good).

Alex Slabinsky up 15 places - not easy at these exalted levels - to 334,
KenSkupski up 80 spots to 551, and
Alexander Ward, disdaining four-figure rankings altogether, straight in at 998!

Well done, lads!

There are three new doubles highs, too:
Chris Eaton approaches the top 400 - he's at 410;
Alex Slabinsky is into the top 600 for the first time at 578;
Josh Milton, seeded 1 in the doubles at the Slovenian Future this week, is at 922.

I apologise that these highs are not yet listed in the 'official' section on page one, but the site won't give me editing access at the moment. I'll rectify this as soon as possible.

Edit: 'official' list now updated

At your service, ma'am! I wondered if anyone other than imoen and Steven ever looked at these - I thought I'd detected an echo of me talking to myself.

Et tu, Madelinae - is that the right vocative, any classical scholars out there? (No, not you, Boris, go and find some other group about whom to be unpleasant!) My Latin was last used around the time the Wall was built (Hadrian's that is, not Pink Floyd's), so I'm not at all confident ...

Thanks, too, Drew - but it's updated every week, honest, guv! Mind you, there's liable to be a gap while we're driving to Toulousaine and back, and drinking cold beers by a warm pool ... anyone for tennis? (ranking lists, that is) I should be able to list any tournament winners during Wimbledon week 1, but will be away when the post-Wimbledon rankings are issued, and not back till mid-week of July 21st. If I can find a wi-fi spot, or an internet cafe in the back of beyond to which we're heading, I may be able to post, but, if I don't, perhaps someone kind could post any new highs for the two 'missing' weeks, just in an 'ordinary' posting; I'd then transfer all the accumulated data to the 'official' lists when I'm back.

Half a dozen new singles highs this week, with notable jumps of almost a century of places for both Jamie Feaver and Josh Milton, each entering a new 'hundred'.

JAMES WARD 474
JAMIE FEAVER 853
MATT ILLINGWORTH 946
ALEXANDER WARD 963
JOSH MILTON 1034
DAN SMETHURST 1152

I offer abject apologies to SEAN THORNLEY, who rose to a new high on May 26 - but I missed it. Sorry, Sean! (I've now fixed the omission)

Just two new doubles highs, and each due to others' falls rather than new points of their own.

ROSS HUTCHINS 74
DAVID RICE      516

Once again, thanks DJ. As someone who relies on others to keep up-to-date, I find your posts on this thread invaluable. handshake.gif Congratulations to Jamie and Josh for moving up the rankings with such great leaps.
