The second week has Slabinsky and Goodall looking to be in the top 5 seeds.

We should se some Brits in the qualies....Feaver, Thornley ?

Yay, Alex is back smile.gif Hope that he manages to carry forward his form of December.

Also, hopefully Goodall can put 2007 behind him and start the year with some confidence building wins and take it from there. please.gif

Josh and Slabba should be 2nd and 3rd seeds - and the following week they should be the Top 2 seeds!

Lets hope we can expect lots of points

Feaver, Bright, Hutchings and Hamar in qualifiers.

Not a great draw as Hutchings and Feaver would have to get past Da Col the top seed to have a chance of qualifying

Feaver lost 6-2, 7-6 (4)
Hutchings lost 6-0, 6-2
Hamar lost 6-2, 6-3
Bright lost 6-0, 6-0!

Lets hope for better in the Main Draw!!

Rd1:

Slabba (3) v Schoorel (Ned)(q)

Goodall (2) v Meniane (Fra)


Schoorel's ranked 856 but is still 18 and was top 25 in the juniors last year. Struggled a bit through the 3 rounds of qualifying, being pushed twice to close 3 setters but will be match tough and made quarters last week. Not a great section of the draw for Alex, seeded to play French Open junior champion Jon Eysseric in the quarters but Eysseric isn't in great form, losing 4&4 to Schoorel last week.

Meniane's ranked 719 but hasn't really done anything in past 6 months

What is wrong with Josh. That result is dire and to think not that long back he was nearly in the top 200. He won't get back there with results like that.

Thats extremely disapointing.....I wonder if Josh can ever get back to the form that saw him qualify for two slams on the trot ?
