Week 3 - Challenger (50k) Miami, Green clay

after JB's inapired decision to withdraw (should have aksned him for lottery number doh!) Boggo is our only representative here, and has manged to scrap in as 8th seed.

1st up for Alex is the big serving serb Bozolijac. this is the match we all wanted ken to cover but i doubt he is there :(

bozo is curently just outside the top 200, but this time last year reached a ch of 101. looking backthrough his events last year he doesnt appear to be a clay plyaer, although back in 06 he did play quite a lot of clay tennis, inc a challenegr win, runner up and SF spot, so he is obviuosly not uncomfrotable on the surface.

bozo beat alex indoors 57 60 76 last year, although got revenge alex with a 61 63 win over bozo in atp vegas qualies.

alex is very down after his disapoitnment in the aoq, but will need to find the form he had vs ginepri i think to have a chance here. although bozo appears to have only played 1 match this year a suprising 76 64 loss in usa f1 to player currently ranked 647!!

excuse my ignorance but is there any difference between green clay and red clay (apart from the colour - i've worked that bit out!) i.e. is green clay faster than red?

My understaning is that green clay is faster. I believe it is also a little higher bouncing

Alex seems to be continuing the honourable tradition for Brit seeded players to lose in the first round of any singles competition in 2008:  he went out 6-3 2-6 1-6! cry  The first set apart, looks like a pretty tame surrender! hmm
