The New Table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

Andy's playing Kooyong this week, which does not count for rankings.

Ferrer and Blake are defending titles from last year and Robredo's defending a finals place.  Ferrer doesn't drop any places, but Robredo drops behind Haas and Blake drops behind Berdych and Youzhny.

No- one can threaten Andy's 9th place this week. Robredo and Berdych could come closest.

Surely, in actual fact, Robredo and Blake do drop positions as the week begins, since they are actually 11th and 13th respectively on points.

They are then, as you correctly show, 12th and 15th respectively, once ajusted for defending points / 19th score.

I'm confused as well because by my reckoning Robredo and Berdych would both pass Andy if they won Sydney. Can someone explain where i've gone wrong as the rankings can be confusing at times.

Wolf - you're dead right. Apologies: looks like I messed up my "start of week" rankings.

I'll amend the first post accordingly.

Hi Christian,

The reason that Robredo and Berdych canot overtake Andy is because their "19th results" are so high.

Robredo, for example currently has 1765 he started the week with - 120 defended +60 19th result = 1705 points.

If he were to win the tournament, he'd have 1765 - 120 + 175 = 1820 points - ten less than Andy on 1830
