I know its end of season and only an exhibition but thats stunning....Ive been amazed at how close all the matches have been....2nd one really could have gone either way

O Lor'. The Sampras- and Weak-Era-fans are going to have a field day. Think I will stay away from MTF. . .

Does anyone else think that Fed was told off for winning the first match too easily, hence the much closer score in the second one? I can then envisage him being asked to throw the third one, since he'd already won the series, 'or we aren't going to throw millions of $$s at you to play another exhibition against Sampras in the future'.

Just a thought ...

ooh, very cynical there Steven! But wasn't Sampras up a break in the first match?

As for what this says, Madeline I think you're right to steer clear of mtf, I personally can't see how a series of exhibitions can say anything really.

Well done Pistol Pete but you can be sure if the Fed needed to beat Pete to lift a grand slam title he would have won.

lol, very cynical there steven...I dont think any fixing went on though, the surface in all 3 matches was really quick apparently, faster than most of the ATP tourney ones which really helped Pete, as his serve is still one of the greatest ever....on a slower surface I think that Roger would have more one-sided wins....Pete had chances in the 1st one as Bethan said, he led 4-2 first set...I think he just started to shake the rust off over the 3 games and maybe having already won the mini-series, Roger relaxed slightly today

This was bound to be set up. They were exhibition matches, with both pocketing a lot of money.

It wouldn't surprise me if they sat down and sorted out what the score was going to be before they went out on court. I wonder if it was sponsored by the WWF!!!
