Who do you think should be the new England manager ?

Jose Mourinho and Martin O'Neill are the bookies favourites....but Mourinho has reportedly said he's not interested and will O'Neill put himself forward again

Fabio Capello seems to be putting himself forward...but would his defensive style be good for england ?

Mourinho hasn't actually stated he's not interested, I believe 5 live said he wasn't but where they got the information from is anyone's guess. His agent came out today and said he hasn't been offered the job yet but didn't say whether he would accept it if he was offered it

Call me an idiot but I'd love to see Hoddle back. Look at his results, England should have beaten Argentina in 98...in fact I think they did beat them, that late goal was fair....

Then qualification for Euro 2000 was not going well, but they ended up qualifying. I think Hoddle is a quality coach who understands the international game. He has done well in situations where he has had to coach instead of buying top players, Soton and Swindon Town are examples.

As a Chelsea fan I'd argue that Chelsea's revolution started under Glen even before Chelsea were a rich club. Glen gets the best from players. Again, sounds funny, but I'd love to see Hoddle back, although the FA wouldn't have the balls to bring him back. Why was it again that he was fired? Nothing to do with football.

I think there were several "off-field" incidents relating to that "mystic lady" he employed.....the only one I can remember, which led to him getting the sack, was his admission in an interview that he believed that all disabled people had done something bad in the past life and so as a punishment God had made them disabled in the next one

Seeing as we don't have a competitive England match for quite a while I would recommend the FA didn'y someone £4 million a month for at least the next 3 or 4 months and appoint someone when everyone has calmed down and when there's actually a job to be done!

And at that point I want them to appoint - Stuart Pearce - because he is currently coaching the team of 2010 to 2014 and doing very well with them.

I also want English players encouraged to play in foreign leagues.

I also want English fans to let their players spend time on the ball and not encourage the style we are currently known for because it doesn't work.

I want English internetional players to be better for England than they are for their clubs, like Scottish and Northern Irish players are and like Peter Crouch is.

As an aside Crouch now has 14 senior England goals in 24 matches. If he carries on like this he WILL be a LEGEND!

Even Bob the Builder would struggle to fix this team, but Capello wouldn't be a bad idea. It'll be risky, but it's difficult to play worse than they have done in the last two years.

He may be a nutter and can be very unfair, but at least he won't allow the press to select the team. And the condition at Madrid before he became the manager wasn't too different from the task he'll have - making a bunch of extremely talented failures perform.

lol....good that....but Hoddle had a great run and as I said is a great coach.  Things went well for England with him in charge, they really should have beat Argentina and then who knows?

Again, as a Chelsea fan, I'd love to see the Great One coaching England, but that is not going to happen.  I think Jose loves the daily involvement with the players....

As a Wolves fan I say a 100% NO to Hoddle. Had to endure a season of the most boring football imaginable in 05/06 when he was manager. Just passed it sideways the whole season, while playing ether the 'diamond' formation or him playing 4-3-3 with strikers on the wings.

I know he's said he's got a commitment with Villa, but I'd like to see O'Neill get the job, with Alan Shearer and/or Paul Ince as his assistant(s).

You try explaining to any of them why you just played crap and see how long you live for!

I don't personally mind Hoddle as he'll most probably keep Becks in the team.
