Hi!

Hi everyone! I've been reading this site for absolutely ages and finally decided to become a member today! Just want to say thanks to everybody who posts and who keeps the forum up to date with results because it's really interesting seeing what young brits are charging up the rankings!

My name is Ciaran by the way, i'm from Northern Ireland and i'm 18 and a student! I play alot of tennis but just for fun, i'm a decent club player but that's all i'll ever be! Favourite players are of course andy and alex but i'm a big fan of djokovic, nadal, baghdatis, grosjean, santoro, safin.

I'm sure i'll be talking to you all alot because us students spend an awful lot of time procrastinating!smile

Hi Ciaran, welcome to the site. I think a lot of us wonder how many people read without ever posting and it's always good when one of them raises their head above the parapet.

If you're a decent club player, you're a lot better than I'll ever be!

Hi, welcome to the forum.

NI are not in GB are they? Although they compete for GB and not for Rep. of Ireland, right? Like Claire Curran did.

we're part of the uk, but not part of great britain. That's why in things like the olympics it's always great britain and n.i, despite the fact that we contribute next to nothing to it!

Don't put yourselves down, CBV; remember (well, obviously you won't, but your grandparents will!) a certain Mary Peters, Pentathlon (forerunner of today's heptathlon) Gold Medallist 40 years ago - and there have been a good few boxers, too.
I don't understand why tournaments held in GB are not actually listed as being in the UK - certainly in my own records system, I list as e.g. 'Shrewsbury, UK'.

Hi,
Welcome to the site.
I joined a few months back and find the site fantastic for all the latest brit results and scores.
I'd be lost now without it.

Which female players do you like/follow.
I admire Henin and Ivanovic is just gorgeous but i also loved Hingis and am gutted that she has now retired again although i just don't buy that she's a drugs cheat.

Enjoy the site.
