Thanks for doing this tennisbrain Makes a useful reference when looking to see who can get wcs for the remaining tourneys.
I think they seem fair...obviously our top players got the wcs into the summer WTAs....
with the futures: Naomi B, Amanda and the two Jades are our most promising juniors atm so deserve their chances....and they have taken full advantage !
Carreras would have had more but she rarely plays in Britain. Same for Yasmin Clarke (injury) and Steph Cornish (GCSEs). Natasha Marks did really well in qualies over the summer and has been moving towards top 1000, great performance in the National U18s where she made the final too, so deserved her wcs in the past couple of months.
I know Howlett is rated very highly by the LTA, really good all-round game. She hasn't had the results some of the others have achieved but she's a very raw talent so will probably take her a while to hone her game to get wins at this level.
Am a little surprised Nebojanko has had so many...considering she was made to qualify for nationals. Never seen her play but she beat jade windley so must be pretty good
I'm not surprised that Warburton hasn't had any, she hasn't really done much all year...a number of losses to much lower ranked and even unranked players....it is surprising as she's a lot better than that. Kirsty mainly competes in Spain but when she does return to GB she usually make the md cut
Big surprise for me is why Joc Rae hasn't had more wcs after her performances at start of the year ! Whats happened to her..injury ?
I have a feeling Naomi Broady's WCs might slow down now after her suspension....although....I hope they don't go overboard....sometimes kids can be kids....hopefully it will be short and they will learn their lesson.
i just looked up jocelyn rae and she hasnt played womens comp since july and same for juniors. is she injured does anybody know? i thought she was going to be a regular this year and make a big impact but she only competed in 4 comps
