Tursunov succumbs to the resurgent Kiefer and is knocked out smile.gif

Over to Bethan who, if we're incredibly lucky, will give us a what- if.  If the sheer number of players involved is still too much, she'll tell us who today's threats are.

Ferrero, who would have overtaken had he won lost to Hewitt smile.gif

Canas and Ljubicic were both knocked out ahead of Andy, giving him a chance to overtake later in the week smile.gif Ferrer and Youzhny were not so obliging hmm.gif

Behind, Mathieu and Nalbandian advance hmm.gif, Almagro joins Ferrero on the plane to Cincinatti

Andy has 1510 points and sits at world number 16

If he wins today,  he'll have 1540 points and can't overtake anyone.
If he loses today, he'll stay on 1510

No- one can overtake him, whether he wins or loses.

Targets are:
Two wins away(Ginepri- Fognini): Ferrer, if he loses R2
Three wins away(Ginepri- Fognini- Federer): Ferrer, if he loses R3
Four wins away(Ginepri- Fognini - Federer - Robredo/Blake): Canas (out), Ferrer if he loses his QF

Threats are:
Four wins away (reach Semis): Baghdatis, Moya. (IF Andy reached R3, he can avoid Moya)

Rob, Berdych (ahead) is out too, I think you have missed him.

And so is Chela below, but that was after you had posted.

Hewitt is rather surprisingly knocked out by the world number one confused.gif Anyways, this remarkable event is good news for our Andy's ranking and he'll end the week at number 16 a drop of only 2.
