Bizarre looking entry list, as you have 9 high ranked players, and then the rest of them are a lot lower ranked (unlike Bucharest where everyone has a middling ranking)

A lot of players in the draw here that Alex can beat, and hopefully he'll end up drawing someone like Garcia or Pashanski in the first round so he can get another ATP win under his belt... but knowing his luck, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get one of the top seeds here

That's because the top players get very good appearence money, which players outside the top 30 (usually) don't. So most of the players who travel all the way to China are either top ranked guys who get a lot of money, or lower ranked players in search of good points.  


The gap was far worse in India earlier this year.
