Stretch and Aucks' Live Doubles Rankings Week 28 - Newport ATP

Updated Live Doubles Rankings now posted here (on Britishtennis.net)

Stretch starts the week up 1 place at WR28.

Aucks starts the week down 3 places at WR69.

A number of threats to both this week with neither playing.

Last year's doubles cuts for US Hard court tournaments:

16/7 LA - ? (Low)
23/7 Indianapolis 151
30/7 Washington 149
6/8 Canada MS 56
13/8 Cinci MS 64
20/8 New Haven 87
27/8 US Open - ?

So Jamie may need Andy to get into both Masters Series events unless Booray do well in the next couple of weeks. Or Eric may well get them a WC to Cinci.

Aucks should squeeze into both Indianapolis and Washington in the next two weeks.

I think the days of Andy playing with Jamie to get him into these tournaments is a thing of the past. Remember what happened last time? I certainly can't see it happening any time this year, maybe as an exception every now and then at some point in the future but I would be shocked if Andy plays doubles in these upcoming masters events.

Andy has been doing so much conditioning and fitness work these past few months he'll probably want as much tennis as possible in the upcoming weeks, but you're probably right - doubling up at the masters series events might be a bit too much.
