RE: Wimbledon doubles: Day 10

At long, long last Britain has a player in a Wimbledon final, Beauty & Stretch having accounted for the 11th seeds, Nestor & Likhovtsveva, 6-4 4-6 6-4 in the semi-final of the mixed! w00t.gif

btw does anyone else find it really annoying that nearly every sentence that Sue barker talks about Jamie she has to bring andy into it? She also topped it off by saying "we all EXPECTED a murray in the final but it isnt andy!"

Yeah we all expected andy to get to the final....

It was so great watching the pair of them today. How great was Jamie in the semi-final? He was poor in the QF, but really seemed to rise to the occassion on the bigger stage. Very, very impressive performances from the pair of them. I'm so happy for the pair of them - they went about playing this the right way, no pressure, just having fun and enjoying themselves.

Yes, it's 20 years since Jo Durie and Jeremy Bates won the Mixed - the last time there was British representation in the main 5 finals
