Week 22 Challenger(M), Carson, USA

apologies if this is a double thread. I have a memory of one existing for this tournament but couldn't find it!

Jamie Baker's main draw quarter

(1) Kevin Kim (USA) - Satoshi Iwabuchi (JPN)
Jean-Julien Rojer (AHO) - Nick Lindahl (AUS)
Jamie Baker (GBR) - Sam Warburg (USA)
(WC) Scoville Jenkins (USA) - (8) Dudi Sela (ISR)

It will be a tough quarter to emerge from. Here's hoping for the best

Baker vs Warburg is first on Court 4 beginning at 10AM in Carson.

I tihnk they are 8 hours behind so match should start at 6PM our time.

Maybe TBarm7 could help with the result?

Been a disappointing few months for Jamie since March..has had a few dodgy draws in challengers, not won many matches...it's a shame after that brilliant start to the year...hopefully he can find his form on the grass....Warburg is a difficult opponent, really massive forehand, if Jamie wasn't at his best he'd get blown off court

Up with Young!

I think that he'll be inside the top 150 by the year end and will crack the top 100 in 2008 after the first American hard court season.

Hopefully he never breaks top 100 pray.gif There must surely be a decent chance of that...so many talented top juniors have never made it...

I dunno why...I've just never liked these brash young American talents who gets tons of wcs and are billed big time as the next big thing...ie I've always supported Roddick's opponents, even now, though with him it's partly because he has one of the most boring games to watch in the top 50. I've seen Young a few times and I think he's a bit overhyped, I mean whenever he plays a US challenger, the website generally raves over him and his every match (when they do match reports) which just winds me up for some reason....plus he hammered Jamie Baker in April which irritated me yet further.

So there you go, it's a bit irrational, bit like Arka's feelings about Nadal in fact biggrin.gif but I'll always be a big supporter of Young's opponents

So c'mon Alex Bogomolov jnr in the semis w00t.gif

fair enough, if you admit it's irrational then I'll let you off, we all need a player to hate it's just unusal for them to be outside the top 300 when you start that hatred! smile.gif
