i guess he's figured he's pretty unlikely to get a wildcard so may as well go for the points in a futures rather than take the risk of qualifying (which he'd still need a wildcard to get into wouldn't he?)
Looks like Baker, Bloomfield, Goodall and Marray are all hoping for wildcards/qualies though.
