With points defended from last year, Alex kicks off "next week" by climbing four more places to 108 biggrin.gif

Dlouhy, Hajek, Falla and Martin drop below him.

Just Sanguinettti and Dancevic ahead of Alex and Garcia behind him drop out.  4 points doesn't have much effect on rankings at this level, so none of his competitors advance.

Over to Bethan for the what- ifs!

Looking ahead to Thursday:

If Boggo beats Gil and reaches the qualifying round:

He'll have 369 points.

He'll overtake: no- one
He could be overtaken by: no-one

He'll be at 108 on Thursday Evening.


If Gil beats Boggo:

Alex will have 365 points.

He'll overtake: no- one
He could be overtaken by: Cilic (plays Gonzalez on Thursday)

Alex is knocked outfurious.gif. So are Luzzi and  Pavel from the group just behind him smile.gif

Berrer and Haase are also knocked out.

Cilic's win means he goes above Alex: Boggo drops to 109 - stilla career best if he can avoid three more overtaking in the next 2 weeks.

Giraldo, Vicente, Zib and Guzman also advance.

Who're the threats now, Bethan?

No one else can overtake Boggo before RG proper starts. However lots are in RG.

One win away from overtaking Alex are:

Andreev, Capdeville, Patience, and Luczak.

Other players in RG able to overtake Alex are:

Falla, Hajek, Brzezicki, Di Mauro, Zib (if he qualifies), Economidis, Roger-Vasselin, Galvani, Montcourt, Ascione, Daniel, Pashanski, Haehnel, Fognini, Ulihrach, Rochus C(if he qualifies), Vemic, Minar, Cipolla, Recouderc, Eysseric, and Sidorenko.

so only a couple to worry about! and that's without anybody playing in challengers over the next fortnight.
