R1: Edward Seator WR 1008 beat (WC) Mehdi Bouras (ALG) UNR by 6-2 7-6(6) R1: (8) Myles Blake WR 736 w/d
R2: Edward Seator WR 1008 v (4) Ludwig Pellerin (FRA) WR 628
Edward may now have broken into the top 1000 but Myles was one of no less than FIVE players to w/d before their R1 matches today. Sounds like a major case of food poisoning or a bug to me, hopefully nothing worse.
This is the first tournament I've come across where unranked players have got a place in the main draw without either a WC or a match win in qualifying!
On Tuesday, Edward is 1st on Court 7 at 11.00 BST.

Well that's because there appear to be about 20 futures this week and everyone in the top 270 is in RG qualies. Still, must be pretty unusual, I wonder how they decide which UNR players get in if more sign in than the number of places left.
Hope Myles is Ok, but as has been said it sounds like a bout of food posioning or a bug so hopefully is only a 24hr thing and doesn't leave him too drained.

This does happen at African Futures at times. It even happened in a Challenger once! In the Reunion Island Challenger of 2005. Sadly the ATP (or the French federation) cancelled it after that.
