Boggo's Live Ranking During Week 20 (Zagreb)

The New table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

Alex starts the week by climbing five massive places to 113. IF HE CAN HOLD ONTO THE GAIN, HE'LL GET A NEW CAREER HIGH!!

This is because Cilic, Waske, Galvani, Saretta and Patience are all defending points from 2006.

A win in Zagreb could take Alex as high as 100. He needs to reach the QF to gain any places.

wow, great start, lets hope those below him dont advance, so he can get a better RG seeding.

Am not sure how confident am on him wiinnng vroko, he hasnt been able to train much on clay due the the rain, so his movement might still not be that great

Unfortunately not. He'll go level on points (365 - his 18th score of 4 +6), but Falla has a lot of "mandatory points" - he reached R2 of Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the USO last year.

so although he's not defending anything he has to score more than 4 to score any point?

yep: your ranking is determined by your best 18 points scores from tournaments in the last year.  Alex's 18th is the 4 points he has from R-G qualies last year.

Here's the breakdown: http://www.atptennis.com/3/en/players/playerprofiles/pointsbreakdown.asp?player=B929

A few more results are due from Forest Hills and San Remo.

Dancevic is knocked out ahead of Alex: Alex can now overtake if he makes the semi- final.

Capdeville and Sluiter win, but don't yet advance.

I guess that's the plius point of rarely winning points in clay season. It means he has less to defend than the other round him!
