Boggo's Live Ranking Week 19 (Prague)

The New table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

Alex starts the week by climbing one place to 116 as Greul defends 50 points from 2006.

Martin, Galvani, Giraldo and Vicente also drop places.

All went well in Rome Qualifying:

Martin, Galvani and Falla ahead of Alex went out in round 1. Luzzi behind him advanced to within 3 places by making round 2, and was then knocked out.

The 80 points on offer from winning Prague could take Alex up as high as 96. A place in the final would leave him just outside of the top 100.

Bethan will tell us shortly what could happen to Alex's ranking on Monday, and We'll hopefully have a "What- if" as the week goes on.

I'll do a 'what if' for Alex probs tomorrow but maybe not until Wednesday.

Today. If Alex wins he'll overtake no one cry.gif  and provisionally overtake Patience.

If he loses, he could be overtaken by Bracciali(R)  if they all win their first matches.

(by provisionally overtake i mean they could creep back in front later in the week)

So today's Best case: 115 and worst 117. (or is that 215 or 217?wink.gif)

Boggo is on the order of play for tomorrow, so I guess that means he wasn't playing today... he plays Mertl second on his court, and this is a decent chance for Boggo to get some wins together on clay, as he should at least win this first round match

Dancevic lost in Tunica smile.gif

Unfortunately, Bracciali  slipped in under the wire in Rome tonight, beating Ginepri, and shooting past Alex.  cry.gif Alex down to 117 again furious.gif

There's now just Patience and Bracciali stil in action ahead of Alex on his table. If he can get the wins, then there's no- one else about to advance out of his range.

Capdeville is currently one win away from overtaking Boggo.

Beyond him only Sluiter, Cilic and Norman can overtake.

So worst case for this week is 121 (-4) best case 117 (nc)

Montcourt can also overtake, I'd missed him sorry. 121 still worst case.
